Hope and Ruin hosting three gigs this week (this is not a drill)

Brighton live music mecca, The Hope and Ruin will be holding two socially-distanced gigs in its upstairs venue this week, the first such events since March.

In what is a wonderful reminder of our past, The Hope and Ruin will host actual real live music gigs this week on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The night out holy trinity (Thursday is the new Friday, Friday is regular Friday and Saturday is the best) will once more include bands ripping away in the pubs upstairs venue, albeit with a seated crowd.

Under Tier 2 restrictions live performance spaces are allowed to operate at a greatly reduced capacity providing social distancing measures are in place, and the Hope team have clearly been hard at work spacing out seats, and generally jumping through all the requisite loopholes to get music playing again.

“DOUBLE TAKE // a series of socially distanced 30 cap. live shows upstairs at The Hope & Ruin. shows will be seated, & the bar will be open & operating table service. alcoholic drinks CAN be ordered without food until 10pm. seating will be in groups of 2 or 4 within the same households/support bubbles,” commented the venue.

The Double Take Series

Thursday 17 December – All Better + Gary and the Yays

Brighton three piece punk outfit All Better will be striding up to the stage alongside Gary and his Yays for the first of the three shows.

Friday 18 December – Exploder + Porcelain Pink

Exploder and Porcelain Pink will then serenade a lucky bunch of Friday revellers and generally help celebrate the best night of the week in the best possible way.

Saturday 19 December – Cutting Ties + Monakis

If that wasn’t quite enough excitement, Cutting Ties and Monakis will be rounding off the double take triple threat, giving those in attendance a perfect excuse to feel rubbish on Sunday.
