Brighton ‘s very own music heroes, Small Pond Records, have announced the eight band lineup for its 2021 Emerging Project.
Small Pond Records has announced the line up of its Emerging project – highlighting the best in up and coming local bands.
Having secured funding from the Arts Council England, the label has been taking submissions for its second unsigned act showcase over the last few months, and has now locked in its final eight.
The Emerging 2021 lineup is: Alex Rafael Rose, Lambrini Girls, Stone Cold Fiction, Maya, Masquerader, Dirty, Harper, and Bridie Florence.
“The scheme focuses on giving promising artists the opportunity to experience all stages in the production and promotion of a record. The process will culminate in the pressing and distribution of a compilation album on 12-inch vinyl, and digital platforms,” the label explained.
As part of Emerging, each act will not only record a track for the vinyl compilation album – to be released in the Autumn – but will also receive invaluable mentorship from the minds at Small Pond.
Programme Director, Liam McMillan commented at the start of the project:
“The workshops and the guidance we bring to the table really ties the Emerging project together. In giving bands this experience of recording and releasing music we aim to give them the knowledge and the experience to do it their own way going forward, and that is where the workshop and guidance part comes into play. It is about providing these up and coming artists with the tools and the know how to express themselves and progress.”
Reacting to the news, Brighton’s own punk rock legends, Lambrini Girls remarked:
“WE GET 2 RECORD A BANGER and it gets slapped on a compilation album on 12-incy vinyl and digital platforms in an Autumn 2021 release. The record will feature a track from each of the selected. Hold on right bitches, new single on the way and it’s gonna be sexy lol.”
