Bubblegum punk rock warlords Young Francis Hi Fi have told us they want to hold us all tight, tonight, and we’re absolutely buzzing about it.

In what is a punk rock polar opposite to Robbie Williams leaving Take That and going solo, Young Francis has corralled some Rotten Reprobates to add some Hi Fi to his solo slingin and given us the absolute rager: I Wanna Hold You Tight (Tonite).

Clocking in at just 94 seconds the track goes hell for leather straight from the off, serving up a slice of no-frills punk rock faster than you can cook a Pot Noodle.

That is not to say that craft is sacrificed at the altar of speed however. I Wanna Hold You Tight (Tonite) rolls seamlessly from its flat-out verses into what is, in no uncertain terms, an absolutely stonking great big chorus.

Described as bubblegum punk by the titular captain of the show, Young Francis Hi Fi is whopping great slice of sun-drenched, beer-soaked, denim-clad punk rock happiness, bringing back memories of the first time your mates older brother played you The Ramones and let you choke on his shit rollies.
